Flamethrower palm (Chambeyronia macrocarpa)

Native to New Caledonia, the flamethrower palm gets its name from the spectacular colour of its newly emerging fronds. This will become a large palm after many years and is an emergant palm which suggests that it prfers shade while young but will grow up to form a canopy as it matures. Fairly adaptible to warm or cool weather. Easy to grow in the correct semi shaded position.
