Spiral gingers (Costus speciosus)

This fast growing ginger plant has multi stemmed bushy habit and each stem grows upwards in a spiralling fashion. Numberous varieties exists ranging from 0.5m - 2m tall. The larger growers can create a pretty quick low screen while the lower ones are perfect for filling in the undretsory of a garden. Moderate water requirements and semi shaded spots are preferred.
