Brief
A sunken courtyard back patio with rendered block retainer gardens. Tropiscapes supplied bulk materials, plants, labour and maintenance.
This backyard patio in Paddington presented a challenge - the steep slope meant the house was set over 4 levels with the backyard at the lowest point. Access was only through the residence itself, with secondary material access via balcony hoisting.
The scheme itself was based mainly on Heliconias and Christmas/Manila Palms, with underplanting. We later returned to install a pool retained garden in the front sunken courtyard, and a herb garden along the entry patio.
